I forgot to add the fact that I'm not an alumni of your fine school. I just wanted to state my appreciation for your football team.

I would like to comment on a story I read on the web concerning your football team and one player in particular who should receive a medal. The tragedy that Yellville-Summit had to endure was one of the worst imaginable for a school. Unfortunately these things do happen. When I was going through school, grades 8-12, I lost 13 friends. It was a chore to try and figure out the if's and why's. After the gesture that your football team offered their opponents, I feel deeply that it moved their recovery process a few steps in the right direction. When people are young it is easy to get caught up in the moment. Your team members showed the wherewithal to sacrifice a little of themselves in order to carry those who were desparately in need of support. Mr. Thamail Morgan, as the story goes, has had a pretty rough time for a little while. The impressive thing to me is the manner in which he is said to be carrying himself since the onset of his problems. Star athelete with a bright future ahead only to see his hopes flounder because of some mistakes he made. I am 40 years old and hope that, if faced with the same situation, I will remember that sometimes it's better to take a knee at the 5 and remember those we've lost than to go for the 5 minutes of glory. The story used the term 'classy', I would use the term 'Character'. I hope deep down inside Mr. Morgan is proud. He should be for he and his teammates showed a great deal of character on that night. That selfless act of kindness and respect for a community in mourning is something that so many overlook. I'm just a good ole' southern boy from south Ga., working in Iraq and Kuwait in support of our US Marines, who stayed up way past his bedtime to say thank you. Try not to fret the problems of today, for if you stay on this gracious path your traveling, I'm sure those problems will surely become memories from the past. Stay true to yourself and those around you and you will get what you seek. It seems you have a good start. I wish you and your teammates a winning season and never forget those who lost the battle. Without them you can't be winners. Keep your chin up and I'm sure all those schools will be calling again. Sincerely, Eric Clemens
